I own Jetta year-92 with motor 1.9TD.My brother own Passat year-92 with 1.9TD too.I saw that there is hose from my turbo to the pump. But from the turbo of Passat there is no such hose - only a cap.
The both motors are AAZ(75PS) and the turbos are Garrett T2.
Why is this difference.
yes i have the same differences on my passat.
on this pump there is no lda systeme on this pump , like a NA pump.
mine has the eco style pump and is from a 96 golf
The one with the hose increases fuel as the turbo builds boost. The other does not. It is known as the "Eco" as in "Ecological" - the idea was the turbo would only be used to fully burn the diesel, not to make more power (and just as much smoke).
Other diesels by other manufacturers had no boost-added fuel either, and tended to puff a lot a black smoke until the turbo spun up and added enough air to the mix to get a complete burn. The Eco can be turned up some, too. But I believe the most power can be made with boost diaphram equipped pumps ( like mine  ) .
can the boost diaphram be easily changed?
