Iīve noticed thereīs quite a few members from europe on this forum...
Does anyone have specs for the Escort 1.8 TD mk5-6 91-98? Also Mondeo 93-00 would be interesting.
Theyīre all IDIīs i suppose?
Is the engine made by Peugeot as in the 80īs Ford diesels?
Tuning potential??

As far I know, Lucas pumps are crap. Maybe you could fit Bosch VE4 pump?

Are all fords fitted with lucas IP?
Or, if someone knows if the 90`s Fords have Peugeot engines, maybe that would make it easier to find information..

all 1.8 turbo diesels had the lucas pumps but you can tweek them up 1.8 are all ford engine . the 2.3 diesel is the pug lump and a big hevy lump to . you do get a 2.5 di in a ford transit and some turbo ones but fly by wire , i have made a M ford tdi 2.5 ,4 pot ,     ford 1.8 td run two timing belts and can be a cu*n for braking and then if your not lucky goosed head , i have seen a ve pump on a 1.8 td with big injectors and it ran well

What is it thatīs bad with Lucas IPīs?
Fords are so cheap to buy, almost nothing for a -98:ish Escort, and that makes it kinda interesting to me :D
The best car Iīve ever had was a pug 405 -93, and I think it had a Lucas IP too, but I never tweaked it so I wouldnīt know for sure.
Are the Lucas IPīs harder to adjust fueling on, are they unreliable, or is it something else that makes them crappy?

theas pumps ant so bad , on the front of the pump there is a 35mm plug take this of turn the engine by hand until a 4mm allon key gois right into the pump about 40mm and give it a very small turn clock wise . this is how to turn the max fuel up . and it dont sit on the revs like the bosch . you can realy get it to smoke if you turn to much

Iīll be bying a Ford Express 1.8TD -01 next week, I would have preferred the Caddy Van TDI but they are so expensive compared to the Fords.
Anyway, it has only 70hp so Iīll bump up the boost and fuel as soon as I get it home
Do you know what turbo it has? Garrett or KKK?
Is there any Ford/Diesel forums in the UK? Iīm having trouble finding any info at all of the engine setup in these cars....

http://www.tdciforum.co.uk/,  dose not sound like your ford has a intercooler on it , up the boost and the fuel 130-140 hp max, merc injectors would help to + a intercooler  and it is a garrat turbo

Actually I havent seen the car yet   IC is a easy fix, add some boost and fuel and Iīll be happy.
I want it to be as reliable as a Ford can be (no high hopes here  ) so it`ll be mildly tuned!

Thanks for your replies, Ford Diesels are not popular in Sweden so itīs hopeless to find any info about them.

Oh, the link didnīt work, here it is again:
