« on: July 18, 2007, 07:53:21 am »
It's a 92 Geo Tracker, priced out an adapter kit (Acmeadapters) and  well a 1.9TD would be nice . IT would be GREAT for the up and comming moose hunt, None like it around. Is there anything I should know before I get my hands dirty? Fabrication? mods to chassis ,do have a 2'' suspension lift ,will the oil pan fit?fuel tank and lines, tranfer pump, exhaust pipe, will stock do? ANY INFO WILL HELP!

Are you going to put a PTO on it?  Now that would be awesome!

Much bigger than the VW rad, oil cooler also. You will have to have an electric fan as most Diesels don't have a provision for a regular fan. A fan from a 3.8 Ford Taurus moves a ton of air and is 2 speed. BUT it uses LOTS of power on high, 30 amps running, 100 amps starting, so it needs a big fuse and big relay. A friend of mine has a LWB Suzuki with a 1.9 and VW rad and he overheats all the time it seems. I have a much bigger radiator and still get too hot, so get the largest one you can fit in. You probably weigh less then me though. My truck is 3500 lbs.
You probably need a larger exhaust, 2" minimum, but 2.5-3" would be best, allowing cooler EGT's and better flow.
