Need to know which 1.6 turbo is going to be the easiest bolt on for my 93 1.9. If anyone knew a part number I can source it through my turbo shop at work. My kkk is dusted and I need a new bigger turbo asap.
Thanks
Pretty sure all the 1.6s stock turbos will bolt on with the same ease... the oil lines are a different length (your's are longer 'cause the 1.9 head is a bit taller) and potentially a different type of thread on the turbo side so something to watch out for.
BTW, is your dead turbo a K14 ?? If so, dibs on taking its tired self off your hands !!! (imho bigger isn't always better when it comes to turbos)

I´ve been thinking about this, I have a T2 and love the way it builds boost at low revs.
What's the disadvantage of having a small turbo when you start tuning?
Sorry for the threadjacking
small turbo = good for low rpm. big tubo = good for high rpm.
small turbo is better all around, but will have higher EGT's, so a gauge is a must if you are tuning.
instant reply!!
Why is the EGT higher with a smaller turbo, if I run 1bar (or whatever) of boost with a small turbo and the same with a bigger, the EGT should be the same?

The pressure is the same, but the flow from a bigger turbo is bigger, so there is more air with the same dieselsupply, so its colder.

Plus the turbine may be smaller causing more restriction to the exhaust.
