Quote from: "jtanguay"or... buy an older vw and drive it till its dead (usually takes about 5 years or so) :lol:That's my plan....My 2003 is the last new car I'll ever buy. I paid $15K for my 98 Jetta TDI and $19K for the 2003. Now a "2006" Jetta TDI is $25K and gets 36 city 41 highway... that is awful.. Besides, I just don't like the Jetta V, it just doesn't appeal to me. I drove one, big, slow, and heavy. I'll pass. I also have always had this mental barrier to paying more than $20K for a car.I want to work up a fleet of 3 or 4 old VWs. Then I can rotate my commute and take one "offline" for maintenance or repairs when needed. I can probably buy them and get them into decent daily driver shape for the price of a single Jetta V TDI.So, 3-4 older VWs sharing the load should last me 15-20 years
