FS: 1984 Quantum TD near San Francisco

I bought this car a couple of years ago with the intent of using its drive train to make a diesel powered road racer. Those plans have been shelved, though, so I am going to sell it instead.

Starts and runs fine, but it has not been tagged since Aug '05. The a/c works, but some of the electric windows do not, and the pain is faded. Interior is fair. No sound from the stock radio. Timed runs zero-60 show that the clutch is worn, but it's fine for driving around. 209,000 miles and the engine smokes a bit. Probably okay for a work car or a veggie project.

First $1000 takes it or it goes on craigslist and ebay if nobody here wants it.

Wow, Stan, where you been?  I'd love to take the car but I've got my own project to work on.  What's new?

Hey ya, Brendan!  :D

Mainly I have been road racing like a fool and playing with race cars! Growing old is inevitable, but growing up is optional...

I tried to get SCCA interested in diesels, and am making some headway, but there is no class where a 100 hp 1.6 is going to be competitive, so I just need to move this car along. If SCCA ever lets diesels into the sports racer classes it will probably be in the 2 liter range. If that works out I will want a more modern engine (can you say 2 liter PD? ).

In the meantime I am hanging out in the wine country of northern California, enjoying the mild weather and the awesome reds.

Somebody make me an offer for this Quantum...cash money talks!
