Is this a mechanicaly controlled VNT-17....... If not what does the Variable Nozzle require signal wise to control the damper on the fins.....

It's a non-modified VNT, no linkage or mechanicaly control on it, It's factory vacuum actuateur on it.

I bought this turbo to put on my M-TDI, and two week later I found a VNT20 for a good price, therefore I never used the VNT17, I paid 650$ the VNT17 without IC adaptor and return line.

Now, I give IC adaptor + oil return line.

I could use it on the b3 mTDI swap... but I don't have that kind of cash right now
