easy to change cam plate in fuel pump? which one to get?

is this a DIY item? or should i take my pump to a diesel shop, there is one locally that says they can rebuild the older vw pumps

also whats the best one to get?

if you can change a plunger you can change a camplate also, but why?
keep in mind the 2springs near the plunger need to be with the camplate.

i've heard some cam plates are more radical than others, providing more fuel... and i plan on changing the plunger as well...

but im not up to speed on what parts are interchangable, where to get them, and what parts to use as upgrades

Your likely best to send your pump to Giles, unless you know specifically what you want, than you can take it to virtually any diesel injection shop and they should be able to take care of it for you. But I doubt prices would be any better than Giles and he also has a lot of experience and FEEDBACK on the stuff he does specifically with our IDI's
