Tuning the 1,6 TD
« on: July 04, 2007, 11:51:00 am »
Hello guys!

What can be done to enhance the performance of the 1,6 TD (60 horsepowers stock)?

* FMIC

* 2,5" downpipe - 2,5" exhaust including decat

* Increase boost

* Increase fuel

How much does the 1,6 TD boost stock? How much boost can the engine and stock turbo take? In other words, how much hp could you get from the modifications above?

Are there any bigger turbos that fit directly on the manifold?

And are there any guides on upping the boost and fuel on the net? I have no idea which screws to play around with.

Just looked into the FAQ section, thanks. But it would be nice to know approximately how much hp you could get from my mods?

Well increasing boost and increasing fuel is too broad, it could be anywhere from 1 extra HP to tripling it, although there is a whole slew of problems once you are pushing 100hp

Some one correct me if I am wrong, but I think:
Headhasket
Heat
Flow
etc.

From what I have read here, the bottom end holds together...just seems like we have a top end issue.

I actually have no idea... it has the cat, thus 60 hp. The non-cat versions have 69 hp, am I right?

By the way zaprzal, I saw your movies on youtube I think. Really fast car. What's done to it? Estimated hp?

Zaprzal, your car sure had more than 100 hp by judging from the movies.

How did the head hold up? Any engine failures?

The engine is a 70 hp version, engine code JR.

So this 10 mm pump modification, is it expensive? I'd like to have around 100-120 hp on stock turbo and stock pump, but maybe that's to much to ask.
