Odometer re-gearing

My Odometer is way off. 40% !  is there a way to re-gear the drive cable to offset the 14", taller tires?

Is your spedometer off as well?  They are usually linked together.  If it is just your odometer, the VW god, Roger Brown has posted this on his website:

Good luck,

If it is for your 83 and your speedo is also off there are 3 different speedo gears available. Check www.brokevw.com for info on them

My opinion:  something else is going on here... 14" tires don't have 40%  more circumference than 13" tires.

Look for Roger's split drive gear for sure.

Ok, did a highway check. Over the course of 100 miles the odometer  is off 10.2 miles... low.  Reads 90.8 miles at the 100 mile marker.

Radar gun reading at 50 mph on the speedo is 53 on the radar.  The dash IS from a 4 speed trans car.  I think that is my issue.
