HELP! Car won't start!

So I had a leaky injection pump, so I bought the kit and replaced the leaky seal. So I have the pump back together and in the car and timed, but I can't get the car to start.
I've just readjusted the timing and I put it right where it should be, and I have fuel in the pump and exiting at the return line (without air), and still it won't start.
If I crack open the Injectors to see if there is fuel, I don't get any. (Well sometimes they seep, but they never spray.)
So any ideas as to what could be wrong?

sometimes it can take a while for the system to bleed the air out... you need fuel coming out of the injector lines, but it doesn't necessarily need to squirt or spray...

I don't want to admit this, but, if, for instance, I put the cam in the pump on the wrong way.... Would that prevent the pump from injecting fuel at the right time? Or could it prevent the pump from injecting fuel at all?
At this point, I'm not sure what else I can do to make this thing start, other then cranking forever and hoping the lines get fuel in them.
If I put it on backwards (I don't remember) How bad is it?

If you installed the camplate in the pump 180° out of time, then your pump will be 180° out of time and firing on 1 when it should fire on 4 and vise versa.
Will there be any harm in me just timing the pump 180° out? I know it's not ideal, and it will make it difficult if I have to time it again, but I really just want to get my car working so I can drive to work next week. (I'm staying with a friend for now, but won't be able to do that forever.)
Basically, I want to make sure that if I do time it with the pump "backwards" that I won't break anything other than an easy way to do timing. (I really don't want to take my pump out again and reprime it and all that fun jazz. Joy.)

as far as i know the car just won't run.

as long as there is diesel in the pump it should be fine.

FWIW: i had my the pump on my 1.6TD out 180deg and it still ran. just had no power and sounded poor.
if it was my car i'd try turning it over until i got fuel seeping from all 4 cracked injector fittings (do one at a time). if you can't make that happen there are issues.

Ok, so new development, seems there is no fuel at all in the injection lines.
The fuel I was seeing when I thought I was getting fuel at the injectors was actually fuel that was leaking out of the injector return lines at 1 and 4.
Soooooo, we've cranked tonight for a total of about ummmm, 10 minutes, and there still is no fuel at the injectors. Could it be possible that the pump is not pumping because the cam plate is out of alignment? (180°)
I seriously doubt that I fubar'd this pump when rebuilding, because it went back together the same way that I took it apart. And the fuel solenoid still works.
It's almost acting as if the fuel solenoid is not opening while cranking... I wonder if that actually could be the case...... Going out to check that possibility now.
EDIT: The stop solenoid is working fine, at least it's getting the full 12V it's supposed to be getting. Any other ideas?

Ok so I replaced the low pressure return lines from the injectors to the pump return line. The old ones were leaking, but I never saw the need to replace them because it always "just worked" so now they are replaced.
BTW, When I take off the return baffle, I can see the governor main and intermediate spring shaft, and it moves when I move the throttle leaver, how much should it move, and should it stop moving before the throttle is all the way "open"?

No fuel at all from the pump, if I take off a high pressure line on the pump, no fuel at all comes out when it's cranked. And yes, the solenoid is clicking.

Well, I have the pump out again, and now I am going to open that beast up and see if I swapped that cam. I think I will also try and run the pump off the car a little so I can make sure that it will actually work BEFORE I put the car all back together.

take the stop solenoid out. I had a car that had 12v with the key in the run position but when I went to crank it cut the power and no start. Or hook it directly up to the battery

Already tried that, we had the test light on it while cranking and it did not go out. I also connected right to the battery and there was still no fuel.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I'd take it out just to be sure, no sense re-opening the pump for nothing
If you remove the OUT bolt does diesel come out? can you see diesel in there?

Too late

I haven't tried, but now that it is out, i will pull one off and see what the crap is going on down there. I am going to put a new seal in the solenoid (I didn't do a complete rebuild even thought I have the entire kit) And I will try to get fuel to exit the pump from the high pressure lines before I put the pump back in the car.
For some reason I can't load the pump dissasembly thread pictures, the site they are hosted on seems down (But I think it's my connection) which side do the washers for the rollers go on? are they on the inside or outside?

I think I found my problem, the hole in the spacer that sits in the pump was supposed to be filled with the little nub thing that comes down from the throttle dealy. Heh, not sure if that makes any sense, but I took it apart this time and said, "hey, what's that hole for?" and then it all came together.
