1994 TD Jetta Glow plug problems!

Hi everyone,,

I have a 94 jetta that has some issues.. I replaced all the glowplugs in the fall and now its only Jan and I have to do it again!..

The problem seems to be that the glow plug timer control relay thingy is keeping them turned on for much too long> then they burn out!

Does anyone know the inputs that the double wide "#136" relay uses to to deceide how long to keep the glow plugs firing?? and perhaps a possible solution..

Also how long should they stay on for after the engine starts? ?

Right now I just have a push button installed and its a pain in the a#s!!
