i would hope that the heads are NOS... if not, who knows what kind of quality the heads have???

my mechanic was unfortunate enough to have a bad camshaft in his diesel...  tiny piece of rust (using unproperly recycled metal probably..) made a weak spot... camshaft snapped and did some severe damage.

you just never know...

My ebay one is a VW head, made in Mexico. Haven't run it enough to know anything other than it works.

Oh ok. All of the ones I saw lost time I loooked were in the $300 dollar range and I didn't see any sort of markings on them

Then again mine was $470? I think, but was complete with new valves & cam.

There is one on fleabay right now for $30-"used in need of rebuilding" From the pics, it almost looks like it has cracks from the prechambers to the intake valves, so don't get that one!
