I guess it don't matter as long as came out of a factory diesel that the tach ran off of the W terminal of the alternator! i got 3 or 4 gas clusters but i don't want to go through modifications to make the gas tach cluster work i'm not into changing diodes and soldering too tedius for me! i'm going to use a jetta mk1 dash in my '81 TD pickup . so was that a CE2 that VW used in german spec models?
