Does anyone know if a intercooler with the dimensions of 31.5"L x 8.0"H x 3.5"D with inlet and outlets of 2.75" will fit into the front end of a 85 Golf without having to use a sawsall? I may have a good line on a used Precision Intercooler with that size. It's the 600HP model

:shock: :twisted:
What do I need to watch out for / look for in a used intercooler?
What is the inlet size of Dave's new intake manifold?
Thats just too big of a cooler to mount without hacking up the bumper support.
Most I have seen used were 27x6x2(or 2.5) with 2.5 outlets. Even this will require some mods.

Well.. it depends...
there's a few things like piping, and angles. where the hoses are to be routed, do you have A/C? (if you did, have you deleted the condenser already?

)
I have an intercooler of about the same dimensions I plan on installing (one day

)
I figured I'd have to rotate or relocate the battery. remove the ac, move the rad back and make some longer radiator support tabs. and it should be able to squeeze in between the rad and the grille with minimal modifications...
but I highly doubt you'd have to modify the bumper rebar... rad saddle yes, bumper rebar.. no.
