I want to put an 11mm pump head on one of my Passat's. I can remove and reinstall the pump heads no problem, have resealed quite a few lately. There is what the local Bosch shop refers to as a "timing shim" that goes between the cam plate and pump shaft. They come in different thicknesses. I am not sure the exact purpose of them is, (well I can guess) but if I put an 11mm head on my existing pump how would I figure out what thickness shim would be required? Would I just use the one that is in there now. Also I saw an old link to a Bosch manual for these pumps, it is dead now. Does anyone have a link to one, or can send me one.
Thanks,
Ray
They are noi "K Quote" for the TDI pump. So you dont need to change the start injection shim.
Just reuse de same
Only for the original 11mm TDI pump and some other, it do not have Cote ''K'' , it's ''K1''.
The timing with the shim between the plungeur and the came plate is for the old plunger with a groove at the end of the plunger, same as cummins 337 H&R, but, it's important to put the proper shim when you install all H&R, to make sure that the plunger do not touch on the timing plug at high RPM.

you are very knowledgeable named TinTin!
get some good carnage if the plunger hits the timing plug!
