I added a cheapy ebay boost controller (bleed valve) and I messed with it tonight, and it holds a steady 15psi. The car runs great and I have the fuel dialed in pretty well so far. Ver mild smoke, good power. I turned the LDA down 1.5 turns, as 2 turns seemed to produce some white smoke at first, so I turned it down to 1.5 turns and that got rid of it.
I was really considering an intercooler. Is this mod worth it? How about injectors/nozzles? I don't want to go too crazy, but I'd consider either modification. I'm not familiar with how difficult it would be to do the injectors and/or nozzles, but I'm familiar with intercooling. If I could get my hands on a top mounted intercooler from a GTD, that would be the best. But those are rather rare and expensive, so I'd like to maybe use a 1.8T or TDI side mounted intercooler and put it in the place where the GTD intercooler goes...
So any other ideas for some easy DIY mods? I'm already running an exhaust without a muffler, just an intercooler. I put the stock airbox back on, but I'm thinking of maybe installing a proper cold-air intake.

(I just cranked the fuel to get this picture)
Thanks, do you have a suggestion for cheap piping?
I'm actually having this problem with my VRT at the moment. All my mandrel bent IC piping is chewed up and I was looking for a cheaper and easier alternative, maybe a bunch of 90 and 45 silicone connectors.
Also, another question... I found a bit of oil in my intake tubes and turbo, looks like the pcv or crankcase pipe. Is it worth it to replace that with a little filter to avoid a bit of oil from going in to the turbo?
I would freshin up the injectors. then get an IC
It's probably a good idea to get a pcv filter if you are adding an intercooler or it will gum up your IC. You can make a cheap one by going to a farm store (there should be a TSC store or something like that near you).
They have inline filters for agricultural sprayers that is just a plastic container that has a fine metal screen in it and an inlet and outlet connector. It also has a drain plug on the bottom to drain out the collected oil. You can make this for under $20 including the hose clamps and fittings.
what kind of suspension are you running?? looks pretty low?? 2" drop?
get an intercooler.. place it in an area that will get some good airflow when she's moving.. you will not be dissapointed!
