Franken glow plug/ control/ relay question
« on: May 04, 2007, 11:23:55 am »
So with the 1.9 head going on it would make sense to use the 1.9 glowplugs. Duraterms I believe?  Anyone have a part number for these and the injector heat shields?  Always get a funny look when I ask for 1.9IDI parts.  " Don't you mean TDI?" Stateside thing   What issues will I run into with this switch?  Will I need to swap out the other parts as well? Relay, controler, larger fuse in the panel?  I am putting the parts list together so I can get this project rolling.

Anyone know a good place to get 1.9 injectors rebuilt?  I am a bit leary of having it done stateside as most guys have never delt with the 1.9IDI injector setup.  Going to put in the DNO SD261 nozzles.

Thanks, Jim

"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

You don't need anything special besides the glowplugs, if you don't already have a fast glowplug relay get one of those. I think in the states you guys have some NA 1.9IDI's in mk3's I would bet the glowplugs are the same. But to be honest with you I can't tell any difference between using good bosch glowplugs made for 1.6's or 1.9's.
