Has anyone attempted to reseal a Bosch VE injector pump using the steps here?:
http://www.vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4353It looks really straight forward and I don't see any reason that this wouldn't work just fine. I mean, as long as you reassemble it the same way you tore it down and pay super close attention to details, shouldn't it be fine?
I'm considering resealing mine soon, so if anyone has experience doing it (or by using the link above) let me know.
Thanks!
My only words of caution are:
- keep things clean clean clean
- the thread you point to shows a rebuild... one of these days we should do a thread on the actual teardown. My biggest oops: the govener shaft and nut are left-hand threads and it's a really good idea to measure how far the shaft protrudes from the pump body 'cause it's an adjustable setting... the dot of yellow paint should have been my first clue.

It's not too hard. I'm in the midst of it right now. Just need to reseal and put it back together.
-Take note of how everything goes becuase you will forget things.
-Take pictures if you can of everything and from different angles.
-As Vincent said... Keep things clean!
I've worked in a fuel shop.......Keep it clean.
what cleaners can be used on the inside of the pump??? any degreaser / brake cleaner???
