Not by me, the new owner may have done it some good. Even after I replaced every mechanical part at least twice, it still broke all the time.
I wager its still cursed.
I Haven't seen it in a few years, and had hoped never to see it again, but It is kinda funny.
 amazing, fast, with power
Neuspeed tie bar, and some wack rear suspension mods did it some good
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/312678618.html1981 Rabbit 5 speed pickup with recently rebuilt 1983 Jetta turbo motor (approx 10,000 miles on rebuild). Rebuilt by Jack at
http://vwdieselparts.com/.
-- all 4 brakes rebuilt including new front "racing" rotors
-- new radiator, battery, tires, timing belt, alignment just done
-- Approx 70% on clutch according to Steve at Karmechanics (Berkeley) who mounted engine and did above work.
--CV axles are working well, boots in tact
-- Has camper shell (not shown in photo). You have to take the shell if you buy the car.:
-- I have the VYTON conversion kit to run biodeisel, just never got around to installing the hoses, etc.
-- I also have a digital temp gauge I never put on
-- Has two tanks, stock is off vehicle, while secondary tank now is primary (I bought it that way).
Disclosures: Interior is shot, paint is shot, R-side door has minor damage but rest of body okay, left cv axle/differential oil seal has leak. In fact I just put in a new seal and wonder if I bought the wrong seal. This is a minor job. One steering boot is broken. Bed and tailgait are worn.
This truck is amazing, fast, with power and good handling. Bed can handle a lot, perhaps 1/3 ton. I'm sorry to let her go, but it is a project I can't handle at this point.
