I haven't had any issues with chipping and none of my customers have mentioned any of the coatings having issues to me. Intake manifold isn't likely to get too beat up in the position its in unless you are racing in the sand dunes with a tube frame buggy.

from what I know ceramic coating is just as durable or more so than powder coating. If you have ever tried to REMOVE powder coating you know how tough it is.
I wouldnt worry about it chipping and flaking unless its prep was subpar

will that manifold fit a PD130? I'm going to be needing both manifolds for my PD130 engine probably around next year when I can afford it. Regular 1.9 manifolds should fit on a PD right? and I want to go VNT-20 or maybe VNT-25 depending on the amount of cash i want to 'dump' into it.
I would recommend GT2256v minimum, most VNT-20 turbos are pretty small.

hmmm maybe VNT-25 will do? I just want the VNT for the better spooling.

Actually the GT2256v is a VNT, "VNT22" I guess. I'm not sure about the VNT-25.. haven't tested it before.

well as long as it will be around $1500 I'm okay with that... the total cost of everything is going to be quite high, but then again, much cheaper than a brand new car, and WAY faster...

These turbos can be found on
www.ebay.de or another euro Ebay site. The keyword you can use is "turbolader". The keyword "GT22##v" may not work.. try "turbolader CDI". The turbo may be $300-800 USD shipped (??) if you look around.

Dave, could you explain for the non techi (me) how the internals of the new manifold work? Got any funky computer graphics showing the air flow path compared to OEM? Thanks,
JIM

Wouldn't you invest in a skidplate if you were rallying? That lovely alloy oilpan would go poof as soon as you hit the first jump.
