Hello,
How much can i back out the fuel screw on my IP to decrease smoke....
Is it safe to fully back out the screw(min.fuel)

Thanks,
there's a point where the motor will not idle properly and die. just keep making 1/4 turns until you're happy with the result. make note of how many turns you make so you can go back to normal.
I would say that it might be better to work form the other end of the scale.
Try putting your fule screw and idle screw back to original positions if you can still see the marks on the threads. Then increase the fuel screw until the revs rise. Then back off the idle screw again. Repeat this until you cannot control the idle speed any more with the idle screw. Take it for a drive and you will find that the revs still hang a little. Then back off the fuel screw again!! There is a sweet spot you will find where it accelerates more crisply before you actually reach the 'dead mans curve' of runaway. I found that getting the max point and coming back a few turns on the fuel screw progressively, you will notice a better build of power about 1.5 turns back.
what happens when you screw the fuel srew all the way in?
Your revs will increase in an uncontrollable feedback loop to destruction.
