What's involved? Parts car from Canada-->US
« on: March 18, 2007, 11:47:54 am »
I have a very nice 95 Jetta gasser with a bad trans I would like to convert to diesel.  Complete US td cars are either too nice for parts cars, 1/2 parted out junks, or just plain over priced.  What's involved with importing a parts car from Canada?  I have a truck and trailer, but is it as easy as purchasing a car over the boarder and towing it back?  Any paperwork needed?  It will not be registered in US, just running gear swapped.  Thanks.

shouldn't be too much involved... if the car is branded as scrap then it should be no problem.  actually importing it to fix it up and drive it is a whole different story...
