I've found the gauges for £25, but is that all I need? Surely I need some kind of sensor etc to plug into the manifold??

I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to find a VDO Cockpit/Vision EGR in °C :( only as the rest of my gauges are VDO metric and I don't want to have to change brands or go imperial (I don't do imperial) :lol:

We Canadians are both metric *and* friendly... here's one Canadian vendor of metric VDO pyrometers that I would bet will ship to the UK:

@Benjamin:

I've had serveral tries to get the German distributer from spruce to send the goodies over to the netherlands. He says he will, but I've never seen anything.

Than I gave a feedback to Spruce that the retailer was not cooperative and they replied that the will contact him.

Last week I had an email from the retailer saying that he was sorry for the mis communication and that he will order the parts asap. (I hope this is the trueth...)

@CorsaCruiser: Thanks for the link I realy like the digital one!

Since there is a topic about EGT guages, I just wanted to know if thermocouples are matched with guages??? I have a imperial vdo guage, but I received a ISSPRO metric guage that I like better. The vdo guage came with a thermocouple and I wanted to use that thermocouple on the other guage. Or should I just try it???
The other reason I dont want to use the vdo guage is cause I dont have the original harness for it...so i dont know which wires go to what....and the isspro guage doesnt require power....it only needs the thermocouple and power to the light. Where as the vdo needed power to run the actual guage...I tried without power and it didnt work!!!
cheers, Michal

@g-spec

there are 2types, a K and J type, the feeler need to be the same as the gauge.
most off the times you have a K type.
i dont know what the difrence is between a K and J.

Accurate temperature range, I think. I believe Type K thermocouples are more accurate/precise at higher temperatures than Type J thermocouples; most of the J applications I see are for intake temperatures or cylinder head temps, which are a lower range.
