Can anyone translate german??? PDF format of manual
« on: November 25, 2004, 01:03:46 am »
I found this one a file sharing program off the net.   Its the german manual for 1.6L N/A + TD and also the 2.0L TD engines.

Turbolader = Turbocharger (I'll add that to my german vocabulary)

download it off my ftp here

its very interesting.  Breaks down a lot of useful parts of the motor!  If only someone could translate :)

google has a translator. it's accessed through the 'language tools' button on their home page.  I think it works on straight definition translation, but it's often close enough to get the idea.

Wow - that is great!  I had not seen that resource before.  Thanks for providing us with that (even if it is in german... more authentic!   )  If you can get it translated, I would love to see a copy of the english text as well...
thanks

well i've begun work on translating the pdf file.  I'll just put it into an html webpage when I'm done.  The translation seems to be quite flawless!

sneak preview of the translation :)

-----------------------
Why turbochargers?

With the help of the turbocharger it is possible to use a large part for the heat energy otherwise escaping with the exhaust gases.  A further advantage is the increase and shifting of the torque into the range of lower engine speeds.  With an accordingly adapted transmission the following advantages result:
 - Lower of the engine speed at same speed
 - economy
 - decreasing the engine noise increased.

Contents

The system
Turbocharger
loading pressure control valve
loading pressure enrichment
Safety device for loading pressure control
Oil Circulation
The turbo Diesels in the comparison
Changes of construction unit

---------------------------

Hope you like it so far!

- decreasing the engine noise increased.

hehe... I like it...

I would replace "loading pressure" with "boost", but that's just cosmetic ; this preview is quite understandable "as is".
