A weekend of camping and fishing
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:19:19 pm »
The date has been set, Arrive Friday August 10th and stay until Sunday August 12th. I still need to call the campground to confirm though. I can't make a reservation earlier then 5 months so around mid-late March I'll call.

I'm thinking that a nice weekend of camping, fishing, cars, diesel and guitars around a campfire would be a good time so I'm proposing this

A weekend a Grundy Lake

I went once last year with my girlfriend and it was awesome, here are a couple of pictures

So who would be interested? I think group camping would be best/cheapest. Basically just a big field that we drive out to and pitch a tent

It'd be a fair drive for you southerners

to grundy lake

Drive:   2,878 mi (about 1 day 19 hours)

I'm not sure what Google maps figures for border crossings....or sleeping?
At least I could change my oil in a natural lakeside setting!

Girls definitely, although mine finds this "weird". Internet people are scary. So she doesn't think she is coming.

We might have to invite some gasser people to come along or it might not be economical to get group camping.

Maybe we should look into all getting our own sites all in the same area? Although I think there'd be a higher chance of us getting kicked out

I got kicked out of camping last summer. They woke me up at 7am after a good party and they said you have one hour to get off the site. So i pulled the pegs out of my tent moved my tent 10 sites down and parked my car somewere else and camped the rest of the weekend We just toned down the partying alot :D

It's just a matter of me calling them now to figure out the details. As long as the weekend isn't booked the date isn't changing.

Who's in?
