Just wanted to know what the diamete of the stock exhaust is....the reason being is on my sisters golf the weld right after the cat broke...so i was thinking about replacing the cat with a straight pipe....
Im not gonna do a whole exhaust on it since its not my car.....
I dont have access to a garage as my diesel is in there...

well since ur from ontario, the car will need the cat to pass the emissions test. it would be a good solution in the interim until you can find a good used one and nicer weather to install it correctly

thats crazy!!! we've gotta go through the drive clean program every 2 years. and those lame shops are making a killing from it. i still remember a shop that was going out of business, and once it started doing e-testing, the owner started driving a high end BMW... :lol: just a cash grab if you ask me.

Ya i forgot to put in the year!! its a 95 1.9IDI!!
Our emission inspection is only visual!! haha

true its just a visual inspection for diesels... but if their system says that you have a CAT then they will inspect for it... if its missing then they will send you away. i was sent away when my gasser golf was leaking a bit of oil.... had to fix the HG!

I went for visual inspection twice now...and they never looked under the car....they didnt even drive into the shop...the guy just did it outside!!
