IDI or TDI

I AM A NOOB
How can I know if I have and IDI or TDI? My car is 1986 1.6l TD but the engine has Changed to a 1.6l TD 1992 engine.

It's still an IDI. The TDI engines are only found on the 96 and later TDI cars.
