ok I have a 1.6 n/a engine with the MF (turbo) code engine with no turbo. the injectors are set at 150 bar and I have installed dnosd 274 (GTD) nozzles. I still do not have enough power to top a moderate hill in WV at much over 65 mph. Should I reset the breaking pressure to 130? What should I set the timing to with this setup? What should it be set at if I drop the breaking pressure back to 130? Will dropping to 130 give any noticalbe power gain? Will the 260 or 261 nozzles be better than what i have? I really need to get this car running right for it is my 1,000 mile a week work car.
TRICK: Use a dial caliper to set timing, use the end that sticks out and place it inside the pump, make a mark on the vacume line to keep the caliper in the same spot for accuracy, works great! Also put the car in 5th gear and roll the car using the left front tire while watching the timing mark on the flywheel. As for the cam I think I used a .013 feeler gauge and a fingernail place it flat on the head and butting against the cam, it will rest just under the slot, now use a fingernail to make sure both sides are the same (nail should not step up on one side and step down on the other.
If you keep the breaking pressure the same I think it would make sense to advance your timing.
