I am in the process of a VW install in a Toyota truck.  I am looking to ask some questions to anyone else who has done a conversion like this.  I need some info on some things.

ACME Adapters.

Do a full kit for Zuki's and have adapter plates for the Toyota 22R tranny. Dunno what else they offer.

EDIT: I meant they do offer a full kit.

search Suzuki and Diesel on yahoo groups too

but what do you want to know? I've sort of done both - a 1.9td to Samurai transmission and a 1.9TDI-M work-in-progress to a Toyota W56 in the same rig.

edit: I'll add this from zuwharrie, too - a toyota vw install.

Are you talking about the 2WD hilux which was assembled by VW in Germany out of parts from Japan ? Its all Toyota but was sold through both toyota and VW. The agreement also included 4WD hiluxes assembled in Japan and sold through VW.  :D

Yup, thats the one I meant.  Not sure about post above.

My point being that parts from one of these wont help you connect a VW manufactured engine to a toyota tranny.

Locally there is a flood of low mileage Japanese diesel trucks hitting our streets.  Some combination of the Japanese inspection requirements and regulations about diesel is forcing them out of Japan.  So I would expect the price of used Toyota diesel engines to drop significantly shortly.
