feul cut higher in rpm (governermod related)
« on: January 22, 2007, 06:34:33 pm »
i'm thinking about doing the governermod on my daily car, the problem is i dont like it becouse every year i need to go to the "aircare" wich mean my engine may not over-rev in free load! (thats the way we measure it here)

i want no feul cut by 3500 or so, but i need the feul cut at +5000 or so, is it possible in a way?

i have a eco diesel, i wanna do this when i install the LDA top on the pump

anything like that is possible.  i got a 1.6TD pump from andy2... he set it up so that it has full fuel all the way up to 4500 rpm.  it's a lot different than my old pump... it seems like its screaming and i RARELY ever let it go up to 4000 due to not having an egt gauge or intercooler...

it would really help immensely if you had a test bench to calibrate the pump that way...

for the aircare, just turn in the fuel screw.  i've done it before to where the car is stalling... it'll still run.. and normally blipping the throttle i got some black soot coming out the rear, but i didn't get any when i turned it down that much. lol just don't let them see you messing around with it!!!  8)

He is concerned about air care because over there they test the engine with no load, WOT. If there is no fuel cut off there is no max RPM... well there is, but that would require a new engine

well, its treu what jtanguay says, i can turn the feul all the way back, then it will only run about 5000rpm for the test in free load, the car can drive something like 50mile/h or so if you did it, but i dont like to screw up the settings every year with my daily car

i need to make the spring tension stronger from the governerspring, isnt?

Should it be a bad idea to make a rev-limiter in place of messing with the spring tension, we can use the solonoid like we shut down the engine, the one on the head from the distrubition to the injector lines. bad idea?

If you but a lighter spring in the  governer spring assy you can set the cutting speed that way.  Pain in the ass though as it is trial and error or you must stick it on a test bench.

anyone, it cant be that hard to make it, just like a shift light, but use the signal to stop the pomp solonoid, only, but i dont know or its bad for the pump to stop it on full throttle in high rpm
