My daily driver is a Jetta TD 1991 thats got a garrett T2 on it watercooled, and the engine is also an SB,that spools up around 2200rpm,the mk1 is superb but it winds up about 2400 rpm but is way quicker than the jetta, its hard to describe how well it really pulls,i wasnt expecting that performance, the jetta has an intercooler and the mk1 dont, the mk3 i cut up for the engine was nippy but it only had the tiny K03 on it and a cat,and power steering which are all removed,it also never had EGR on it so im chuffed.
The main help is the freeflow exhaust i have used on it,2.5 inch with no middle silencer  it sounds nice,i have still got to set the pump to 1.0mm plunger travel as it misses a bit when cold when its set to the book 0.8mm,Giles on here said go to 1.0 so thats good enough for me
Im going to tax it in a few months and take it to a mates performance center for a dyno check.
