Oil questions.
« on: January 18, 2007, 01:27:48 pm »
I was shopping for oil for an upcoming oil change. I noticed Castrol has both "Tection Extra" and "GTX Diesel". What's the difference?

Also, I saw jugs of "Coastal Fleet 15w-40" on sale for $6/gallon. Anyone have any opinions on this oil?

I'm afraid I haven't any experience with either of those, but I suppose a lot comes down to how often you change your oil.  If you do it every 6000 miles/6 months any 15w40 should do the job.  8)

I have no experience with those oils but like TomB said, if you change your oil that often then any good brand name oil will work.

It is when you go to extended drains that you needs a high quality oil.

Check out these two  . I have a link to mine on bobistheoilguy.com
