Tuning pins?
« on: January 16, 2007, 04:00:00 am »
I was talking to a german guy that is selling various tuning parts for mk2 golf TD's. These include Front mounted intercooler setups and tuning pins. Are new tuning pins really beneficial or necessary, I thought everyone uses the existing pins and adjusted them?

Is this the guy on german ebay, that sells tuning kits for the 1.6td?

He sells the pins, and kits including boost gauge on ebay?

I'd be interested in finding out about fmic options, especially from Germany as it is so close to the uk.

Cheers Bri

yes he's on german ebay. You can buy it all as a kit, including MBC, tuning pins and full intercooler setup. Or you can buy them seperately.
Here is a link to the intercooler setup he's selling. It's off a mercedes sprinter.

Ive been watching his stuff for a couple of months.

I posted a question about it here a month or so ago and got no response.

Is a fmic going to be that much better than the gtd you have as standard?

i would think so, its also alot larger of a cooler

i wonder how hard this would be to fit to a mk1,  everything is about the same and in about the same places, the radiators just a little larger

modify your stock pin,and enjoy the same benefits of his pins
the pins have numbers on the bottom having to do with the taper to the pin..
modify your own  pin to have the same gains for free..
and if youwant to return it to stock, just rotate the pin
