Source for NEW Injection Pumps for '84 Rabbit - Non-turbo
« on: December 25, 2006, 09:27:19 am »
Merry Christmas!

I'm looking to replace my leaky injection pump on my non-turbo '84 Diesel Rabbit.    Due to some other parts that are broken on it, I've elected to not simply do a reseal/rebuild.  I know I can purchase a remanufactured one from a few places.  But does anybody know of a source that has brand new ones?  If you know of such a source, please let me know.

Also, an interchangeability question: will any diesel injection pump from 1977-1992 fit on my bunny?

Thanks!
Bryan Walton

i was able to find one on eb*y from a west coast company that i believe was called ecstyling.  it does not have a cold start lever, rather a elec solenoid that i have never hooked up, nib it was $450 plus shipping.  it has worked fine for the last 25,000 miles.  regards, tad

Thanks for the heads up on the newer style pump.  I don't really want that (trying to keep it as close to stock as possible.  I guess I'm probably going to go for a reman'd one.

Thanks,
Bryan

I stumbled across this:
"VW-Rabbit-Jetta-81-84-1-6-liter-DIESEL-INJECTION-PUMP"
ebay item # 330068107985

Seems pricey, though
