I just recently got my 92 TD. I've got a 92 diesel as well and the rad fan rarely ever comes on in that car. In this 92 TD the car seems to heat up much quicker and get up to temperature but the rad fans only seem to come on once in a while. Maybe the temp gauge in the car is a little misleading and the car isnt really getting hot when I think it is, but the fans do not like to come on. I let the car run earlier today to see if the fans would come on. They did, but it was 10-20 second at the most and then about a 1.5 - 2 minute interval before it cam on for another 10-20 seconds.
Is this normal? I know the n/a diesel doesnt have the fans come on much and I havent owned the TD long enough or driven it in heavy stop and go traffic to see if the fans come on for a long amount of time.
