1.6TD and 9Q tranny into MK1
« on: December 07, 2006, 07:36:07 pm »
So, i've got an 84 Quantum. I want to put my engine and tranny in a rabbit. I've done some searches and have found a little about the motor, but not the tranny. Ive noticed that my quantum engine is in-line with the tranny whereas the rabbit engine is perpendicular. Is this going to prevent me from doing the tranny swap? Are there rabbits that aren't like this? Thanks for any input.

you'll need a rabbit transmission.  well any any scirocco, jetta, golf, or rabbit, 4 cylinder tranny from 1974-1999 will work.  i would just try and find one with tall gears
