Tire sizes
« on: November 23, 2006, 11:12:10 am »
What size tires are you guy running? I have some steel 14" and would like to go as tall as i can. I have 185/70-13 on it now. Here are some sizes i've considered:

___size____wid__dia
185/70-13__7.2__23.1
195/65-14__7.6__23.9
185/65-14__7.2__23.4
185/70-14__7.2__24.1
185/75-14__7.2__24.9
195/75-14__7.6__25.5

Will any of these fit? Plus i haven't checked but are any of these sizes common? Its for an 1984 rabbit lowered about 1" up front got the usual sag out back of about 1". The wheels are factory 14" steelies. Thanks for your help guys.

I have that size there to compare what i have on the car now. Sorry should have said it has 13s now i just figured you would understand that. I'm getting my 14s powder coated and i'm just doin some math to get some lower revs on the highway. I don't want to buy tires if they are gonna rub so i just wanted to see what has been used on everyones car.

Hi I've been running 185/70/14s on audi rolla wheels on the frankenbunny. I'm also using cabrio springs also for a bit of extra lift.  the stock tire size is roughly 22" in dia , the 185/70/14s are 24" in dia.......  this is the largest size I would want to try, as these just clear the spring seats & shocks by 1/4" !!!!   nice for a ocational dirt road trip, snow chains won't clear however. the main reason for the 14"rims is to clear the audi 4000/ 16vsirrcoo brakes I'm using.......... :)

I run the 185-70R13s:

I think I may be able to squeeze a 185-80R13 in there.

my rabbit came with 185-70-13s on it
kinda tall
but since my gearing was so short it helps
actually now ive got mk3 wheels on the front with 195-60-14
and i still got the lil 13s on the back
being the back is so light,it can be fun in a corner with some slight oversteer corrected by more throttle input

14s on the front, the 13's on the rear
featuring  my "portable ICE setup",lol

we all know the real ice comes from the straight piped exhaust though
Throttle cables ftw
