Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to cut into the cooling system in order to fit an auxillary temperature guage? I have looked at the two sender/sensor units on the cylinder head outlets with both being too constricted to build a T of pipe connections. I have thought about maybe cutting into the heater hose close to the cylinder head with a tee, hose barb on each end. Is there a plug on the head that can be removed to get access to the cooling jacket? Or maybe you know just where to drill and tap??

I put mine in the same neck as the factory, there was a boss opposite that I just drilled and tapped. It let me at least know what the lines may mean on the factory guage.

Did you use the front head outlet or the side head outlet that supplies the heater?

you might as well splice into a heater hose or something close. would give you an accurate temp reading, but put it on the outlet to the heater core, or you will see some discrepancies when the heater fans on...

i think what would be interesting, would be to put a temp gauge on the outlet of the oil cooler. would give you a general idea of how hot the oil is getting, etc. right?

The only problem with this is that when the HVAC is set to cold the coolant won't be flowing in that area

I used the front outlet to the radiator.
