I bought this pump off a guy who said it was from a 94 turbo diesel Jetta. I got a 97 turbo diesel and the pump is leaking on it. This pump had the switch and everything on it but I guess I did not look at it well enough as it is missing the boost pin and stuff??? The casting is just closed off??? Why is this like this? And if it is off a Turbo car how did this work??
If anyone wants to buy this pump off me let me know as I can not use it the way it is. It is a 1.9 AAZ engine.

My guess is someone messed around with the plunger and messed something up (be it the pluger, the starwheel, the cap or something) and instead of fixing it they just blocked it off.
Without the plunger and cap with the fitting for the hose to the intake manifold, fuel enrichment under boost doesn't happen.
you basically have an ecodiesel

The stuff is not blocked off. The casting has never been finish with holes and such. Is this what an Ecodiesel pump looks like?

it's an ECO pump. Half an LDA with a blockoff plate. My passat was the same way, until Giles added a proper LDA and modded the govenor.

Well ***, I guess I should have looked a bit better. I saw the switch on the top and assumed it was the one for me. Who wants it? Guy says it is good with no leaks. Make me an offer.

That 1.9(AAZ) ECO pump was sepcifically used only on the 93 passat possibly some 92's as well.Another one of Vw's short lived diesel idea :?.

So will this work on a turbo car? Will it just have a modified fuel curve and assume that the turbo is making boost at certain RPM?

The one on my 93 Passat, combined with the small turbo and the single stage injectors didn't give great mileage, and had no power.
I had it rebuilt by Giles, and an LDA attached properly and it's a whole new vehicle. I haven't finished with tweaking it to the application yet, but it's already a world of difference, with an extra 200 km/tank improvement so far.

I believe thats a 92 or 93 passat pump, I think in 94 the passat pump had the KSB.

We have a lot of those pumps in Europe, fairly common to see them with the top part of the LDA just blanked off.
I have one under the bench.
From what I can gather there are 4 different AAZ pumps used in this country.
