I have a Caddy w/ a 1.6 TD. I want to Intercool it but can not put an interccoler in front of my radiator because I have A/C. I wanted to put an intercooler to the left of the battery in the engine bay. To do this i need more room. I was thinking is there any aftermarket Radiators that would be not as wide as stock to use w/ an electric slim fan? Has anyone done anything like this? I read something about using an aftermarket aluminum radiator from a civic? Anyone have any advise? Ideas ?
you could put a smaller sized intercooler where the battery is, or where the air box is?

i dont know how big this cost is...
if this is getting expensive you better start searching for an water/air intercooler. Keep in mind you still need to set a radiator to cool the water.
waterintercoolers got the higherst efficiency.
after those, the front mounted are better becouse you got the highest pressure on the frontgrille of the car.
i realy dont know or you got place and possibility, but maybe you can set one down after the bump.

I don't think a radiator is designed for boost. You can probably get a small one off ebay for pretty cheap and use an universal fan (about 1.5" thick) wired to a switch inside the cabin.

i think he was only making more room

Doh it does sound a lot more logical
You can use a smaller rad but make sure it's thick to compensate for the loss in frontal area and maybe use two small electric fans (or one big enough).
thats what im thinking smaller radiator to make room for a intercooler. Any one with radiator ideas like from what models would work best?
Just taking a guess, but I'd imagine a firefly would have a small rad, since it's a 1.3l IIRC
i wouldn't skimp on rad size... especially when you have A/C. the condensor is pretty much the size of the rad anyways, and the hoses get in the way. you're better off with air/water intercooler (the heat exchanger for the water could be placed almost anywhere, as long as it had fresh cool air flowing on it)
i think some people have moved the battery to the back, and got a smaller washer fluid tank and stuffed an intercooler on that side. the other side will work just as well too.
