Just checking to see if this is even a possibility.
Could a blocked injector/ improperly seated injector cause a "back up" and therefore cause any of the seals to fail in the pump?
Situation: Recently replaced all my injectors with new bosch units and new heatshields. One began to leak, I pulled it and noticed some coking on heatshield. At the same time, I noticed an increasing amount of leakage from the pump (seemed mostly to be coming from injector side of pump). This pump did not leak prior to this work. Is this just coincidence or are these two problems related?
FWIW, after I replaced heatshield and retorqued, the injector seems to be better. Pump seems a bit better but still leaky. Still a bit too early to say for sure what has changed.
Thanks
Andrew
could be low sulphur diesel... my pump dribbles quite bad...

arrgghh
My money is on the low sulfur fuel (especially if you pump has seals over 5 years old). Mine started pouring about two months ago. I wouldn't think that a faulty injector would cause the pump leak.
