I just recieved a simple ball-and-spring MBC in the mail. With the excitement of enjoying a long awaited performance increase, I also find myself now wondering about my original idea to jack it in directly off the compressor inline with the short stretch of tube leading to the WG (Garrett). I got to thinking, and wondered if maybe it wouldn't be better to use the intake manifold as a boost source, then on to the WG, while just plugging up the outlet from the compressor? I am by no means an expert on turbo systems, but have heard that by using the manifold as your source there may be spikes but there will be less lag (a good thing with the Garrett). Directly off the compressor will yield more lag, no spikes, and possible performance changes relative to ambient Wx changes. Is any of this true for the 1.6TD? Does anyone have experience with both methods of connecting an MBC?
Thanks.
