hi, Hope someone can help..
Ive just been changing my cambelt on my 1y 1.9 na .
Story short.. i've managed to knock off the pump locking, the pump then spun a little, not sure what to do now. The other locking pins/bars are all ok ( cam etc) so can i just rotate the pump back and put the pin in? or is that just naive?
any advice before i go further greatly apreciated.
pic below is of the pump, the slot is at 8 o clock position, the locating hole is about 11 o clock position.
many thanks

You can turn the injection pump independent of the cam, crank and intermediate shaft. its the cam and crank you dont want to turn out of sync with each other.
Once you have it all together you want to turn it over by hand a couple full turns of the crank to make sure all is good
You can relock your pump safely as long as your cam/ crank timing hasn't changed. I never lock my cam or injection pump sprocket. Its a skill that comes with many times putting a timing belt on. Or swapping out bad injection pumps.
It can be done safely as long as you are sure all your marks are lined up.
