missing spring?
« on: October 04, 2006, 05:39:42 am »
ok, i was doing my (first time) governermod, so i tooked of the top of the pump.

i got the throttle thing with the 3springs:

so, i looked better, i got the main spring, the intermediate spring, BUT not the little right spring
is that normal?
is there any need to put a 3th spring in it, (from another pump?)
wherefor is the 3the spring guys?

Greetz, Benjamin
@admin: i didnt know were to place, i even dont know this IS a problem? or not, anyway, i hope to hear where for it is, if this is a problem, feel free to replace in the right section

edit: i think this is the idle spring

The spring to the "right" is the idle spring. Yes it is needed.

okay, i did the governermod, everything is together, i used a spare spring like i said, the engine runs good as before.
its a big questionmartk for me why the engine could run fine without that "right" spring.
anyway. what happens when the "right" spring is stronger/weaker?
what happens when the left/main spring is stronger/weaker?

Oh, i did the governermod, the quantity screw a bit, the lda adjusted with the starwheel, and the lda is exentric, i got the best side now, its a big big difrence, i try to gtech one of these days when the weather is better.

when the right spring is stronger or weaker it will just take longer for it to correct your idle speed, when the right spring is stronger it will make you rev higher with more fuel for longer, and when its weaker you will rev lower, more or less the left spring is the rev limiter, i think anyone feel freee to correct me, i am just going by what i have read and my understanding of the workings of the injector pump

guys,
i Gteched when the engine was with stock settings, my fastest 0-100km/h was 11,5.
last night after doeing the governermod, lda, starwheel, feul quantity, a little bit wet on the street, and 2persons in the car, i did 8,7sec!  :D   stock T2 turbo! i'm hitting something about 1,2-1,3bar. with a lot of smoke
i'm realy glad, i think when i'm alone in the car, with good weather, i can do 8sec flat.
