It's a front end cover. We use them generally in the summer to keep insects/stone chips off the car, but you can use them year round if you really want.
They're also great at hiding deer collision damage until you can get it fixed properly. You'd never know the front edge of the hood is creased underneath it.
They will also screw up your paint over time as well.

The best looking paint on the whole car is under there. Lol. It's not going back on though when I get it painted.
yea they are supposed to protect your front end,but they can mess up your paint
us silly americans also call them a "bra"
funny though,i never see any women wearing them
You don't want to see the ones that will fit into that one, trust me

It's never been an issue for my father with a "bra" (on his cars) you jus have to washa nd wax under them once a week or the dirt under it will sand the paint off for sure.
Give me rock chips any day, only one of those I ever owned came off before the car cooled off in the driveway the first time.
A good alternative for rock chip protection: You can get a clear plastic film put on the front couple inches of the hood. Like a window film or something, same stuff they put on rocker panels in high wear areas. Except for the edge of the film, its virtually invisible on the car, but it takes the impact of all the little bits of crap that fly around on winter highways.

I've never seen this kind of protection in Europe. Maybe you take more care for your vehicles
