Would the cluster of a MK3 TDI work on my 93 1.9TD aaz cluster wiring?

Have anyone usedthe cluster of a tdicar on aazcar, or perhaps the otherway around? (altough I think the tach was standar on TDIs)

there is this guy from germany selling me a cluster of a TDI i just dont want to waste moneyif it's not going to work. (partsguy at my local VW dealer think it would work but didn't sound convinced to me)

The TD tach runs off the alternator "w" terminal, the TDI tach is driven by the ECM. I doubt that they would be compatible.
