Would want to swap Bosch injector pump with other brand
« on: September 23, 2006, 05:19:55 am »
Hi, I currently have '84 Quantum 1.6TD.  Do any of you experts know if a fuel injection pump from Bosch can be replaced with one manufactured by Denso?  If so, do you know what's a recommended part number?

By the way, do anybody has a fuel pump with built in Automatic Cold Start Device?  I believe this device works like this:  Instead of pulling a lever for cold start, the pump is connected to a water line with thermostat.  The thermostat kicks in when coolant gets warmer and thus disables cold starting feature.

would be neat to have... maybe its possible to take one off a car that has the automatic timing advance, and swap it on our pumps.  (depending on how it works)

hi

yes the swap you're talking about with the WaxStat fast idle and cold start
advance running with the water jacket was quite common in the 80's in
most of the japanese pumps.

u might be able to find one around but most have been eaten away by rust.

if u can find one then i can help
