The shaft is pretty hard, I doubt it's damaged very much. Get a new nut and lay off the torque a bit and it'll be fine. Watch those clicker torque wrenches, they're very consistant but not very accurate, dial or beam types are more accurate.

Is the nut just spinning now and not threading off? You might try clamping vise grips on it and then prying out on the vice grip with a prybar or screwdriver as you try to unscrew the nut, it may catch a bit of thread and turn off.

Yep just spins and thats it.I was thinking of using a gear puller on it and try to back the nut off.

Sometimes if you wedge a screwdriver or something on the nut and put pressure on it you can back it off. Most likely its the nut that lost its threads. I've never seen the shaft lose its threads. But I've used the screwdrive trick numerous times to apply pressure and back it off.

Try cutting the nut carefully at opposite ends with a hack saw blade. Then grippng the nut on either side of the cuts bend it with a twisting motion to break it. Or use a nut splitter.

I take care of problems like this with a cutting torch. Precision dismantaling with the flame wrench. Really. Keep the flame small and go slow, blowing the material away at a tangent to the shaft. You can blow a nut off a bolt without damaging threads, get a race off a shaft etc. Sometimes the smaller flame of a welding tip gives more control, just crank the oxy once you have an edge of the nut hot.
Doing this in the enginebay does come with some other risks from sparks. Especially if your pump is leaking.
Grab a bunch of old nuts and bolts and practice.

It's off!!!Well kinda of got pissed and took my 4in grinder to it and slowly ground it away till it was just a round sliver and pulled it off.It turned out the nut was striped out all the way.I think what happend was the nut bottend out because there was not washer behind it and when i went to TQ it down it striped out.So now it's back to gether with a new nut(12MM X 1.75 pitch)and a lock washer. Thanks for the help guys.
