2004 Wolfsberg Jetta with 75,000 kilometers
« on: September 17, 2006, 05:23:56 pm »
Engine lost power with no warning, now has very slow acceleration and gutless,  no sensation of any turbo boost now, dealer has tried new mass air sensor, fuel transfer pump, and other things. This seemed to be an intermittant fix, as engine produced power on initial test drive then lost power again when I went to pick it up. Mechanic has the injectors out now and comments that they are worn, and that they might have to change the cylider head, they now have 2 other vehicles at the dealership exibiting simialr symptoms.
I use Shell diesel from a well maintained sercive station, and the vehicle has always been serviced according to VW's maintainance schedule by the authorised selling dealer.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

I have no answers for you, but was curious as to what kind of oil was used in the car?  if you don't find any answers here www.tdiclub.com has some knowledgeable tdi folk there too.  I hope no one minds me referencing the other site since we are all here to help one another.
Waiting for a bigger better diesel to come along.

tdi 's are famous for the intake plugging completely solid with carbon. i get alot of these at work the problem is caused by the egr valve baking the oil to the inside of the intake.
